When the winds blow foul and the waters churn,
I shall be there.
When the skies grow dark and the rip tides run,
I shall be there.
When the land cracks parched and the wells are dry,
I shall be there.
When the earth splits shaken and the walls crash down,
I shall be there.
In each heart beat, my heart beat.
In each breath, my breath.
In each footfall, my footfall.
Do but feel the fluttering within,
Do but listen to the song beyond words.

The song beyond words

Storm fashioned impact
No veils,
No masks,
Ripped naked to the soul;
Fused together by storm fashioned impact -
We fell.
Still stunned:
We have no wish to be ever otherwise.
No masks,
Ripped naked to the soul;
Fused together by storm fashioned impact -
We fell.
Still stunned:
We have no wish to be ever otherwise.

Churches
I like churches when the Christians aren't there;
Old ones,
Stone built perhaps,
Full of half-light and memories
And echoes of hopes and fears,
And prayers said to a silence that never replies.
I stand trespassing,
Uninvited,
Unintended,
Stealing the peace and hiding it away.
Old ones,
Stone built perhaps,
Full of half-light and memories
And echoes of hopes and fears,
And prayers said to a silence that never replies.
I stand trespassing,
Uninvited,
Unintended,
Stealing the peace and hiding it away.
